Schedule Location XML Imports and Exports
How to schedule automatic XML imports and exports to keep your locations up to date.

If you have a large number of locations that need updates on a regular basis you can schedule a recurring XML import. This option omits the necessity to manually upload locations in a .csv file. You also have the ability to export all of your locations to an XML file by scheduling an automatic XML export process. To activate this feature Bullseye must first set up an FTP site for your account to accept your XML file. Please contact us at 732-868-8463 to set this up.
Upload Files to the FTP Directory:
- After your FTP directory has been set up, before your scheduled import runs, move the files you want to import to the FTP directory.
- When the scheduled import is ready to run, your file will be picked up and imported. The first file in the directory will be imported first.
- There is no specific naming convention required for your files, you may use the same file name for every upload.
Schedule Imports
To access the schedule page go to Manage Locations > Import > Schedule Imports:
Scheduled XML Import: Enable or disable your scheduled imports.
Repeats: Configure to repeat hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
Repeats Every: Set up the intervals in which you want the import to repeat.
- Monthly – 1 to 12 months
- Hourly – An even number of hours from 2 to 12
- Daily – 1 to 30 days
- Weekly – 1 to 4 weeks
Starts on: Specify the date and time you want your import to run. Time can be set up in 15 minutes intervals.
Ends: Specify the end time of your scheduled import. Your scheduled import can end on a specific date or after a certain number of occurrences. You can also specify "Never" if you need to process to run continuously.
Upload History:
The upload history shows the status and the details of your imports:
Submitted: Date and time in which the import was submitted.
Rows: Total number of rows in your import XML file.
Inserted: Total number of locations that were inserted. These are new locations in the XML file.
Updated: Total number of locations that were updated. These are locations that had updates in the XML file.
Deleted: Total number of locations that were deleted. These are locations that were not found in the XML file. All locations, even the ones that do not require updates, need to be included in the XML file, otherwise they will be deleted.
Skipped: Total number of locations that were skipped because there were no changes to them.
Errors: Lists the total number of errors that were found in the import.
File Name: The name of the file.
Schedule Exports:
Schedule exports allows you to schedule automatic location exports. To set up exports, go to Manage Locations > Export > Schedule Exports:
Scheduled XML Export: Enable or disable your scheduled exports.
Repeats: Configure it to repeat hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
Repeats Every: Set up the intervals in which you want the export to repeat.

Retrieve Files from FTP Directory:
- After your scheduled export has ran, access the FTP directory to retrieve your file.
- Beware that if your XML export file is not removed from the directory, it may be picked up as the next import file.
- The naming convention for export files is ClientID_YYYYMMDDHHMM. For example: Client356_201703131145
