Configure a New Sender Email Address

Change the Sender Email address on emails sent from Bullseye.

Requirements: Any paid subscription

By default, emails sent from Bullseye will have [email protected] as the sender email address.  It can be helpful to your users if they see your own domain in the sender email address, if they are familiar with it.  If you would like to change the sender email address, this can be done in a few steps.  This will require some help from Bullseye locations in order to configure your DNS as needed.

Following are the steps required:

  1. Contact Bullseye with the email address you would like to use as the sender email.
  2. You will need to update your DNS.  Bullseye will send you an email with instructions to configure DKIM and DMARC records in your DNS. The email will look something like this:

To Enable DKIM:

1. Create two CNAME records: one with the name mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com* with the value dkim1.mandrillapp.com, and another with the name mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com* and the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com

To Enable DMARC:

1. Create and save a TXT record in your DNS with a host of _dmarc.yourdomain.com* and a value of v=DMARC1; p=none

*Some domain hosts automatically add 'yourdomain.com' after the initial value — contact your domain provider for any specifics. Replace "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain.

When the DNS is updated, let us know and we will verify the existence of the required DNS records. Once DKIM and DMARC are verified, continue with the following steps:

  1. Enter the desired email address as the sender email for the emails in Bullseye under Settings/Notifications.
  2. We will test your entry to see if it works.

After testing, your users should receive the emails with the new email address.
