Import Locations through the API
How to automate location imports with the XML batch import.

Bullseye’s XML Location Batch import is a powerful tool that allows you to add locations in batch mode. The import can be used as a single one time import or can be used to automate the synchronization of an external system with locations in Bullseye. Importing locations through the batch import does a full replacement of the locations.
How it Works
The batch API accepts an XML file. Create the location XML document using the XML Schema outlined in the API document. Then FTP the file to a designated directory on the Bullseye server. You’ll need to coordinate with our sales team to get FTP access. The batch import runs daily at 8AM. If you’d like to request a manual import, contact our team at 800-606-1415. Files in the directory will be processed automatically and added to the location table. Files just need to have the .XML extension. We recommend replacing the file each time you want to do an upload, but Bullseye keeps track of which files are imported so you can keep adding new files if you'd like to keep a history.
Once the import is completed, an email will be sent to an administrative email address which can be configured within the header file of the XML document. Errors are identified before the actual import and will also be reported via email to the administrative email address in the header of the file.
Supports Categories and Territories
The XML Location Batch Import allows you to import categories, territories, and locations that have both category and territory assignments. All three elements are included in a single file. Adding locations with categories assumes that the categories either exist prior to the upload or are including in the XML file. Adding locations with territories assumes that territories either exist prior to the upload or are included in the XML file.
